Devin always calls from work to chat....

tonight I gave Kaylie the phone to talk to daddy.

she was so

intent on listening to what he said.....

almost as though she totally understood!!!

It melted my heart!!

Lounging Around....

A neighbor of ours gave Kaylie some of their toddler 'toys' their kids have grown out of...

Kaylie's favorite hand-me-down is this demin chair.

She discovered the chair this afternoon after her nap

and spent a lot of time sitting in it reading a book

and just hanging out!

For a girl that doesn't ever SIT, this was amazing

and for sure something I can get used to!

Sunglasses!

Kaylie got a pair of sunglasses for her birthday-

I sort of forgot about them

until she starting stealing mine all the time

I thought it was time for her to have her own pair

She won't take them off!

She even did a whole swim lesson with them on!



Even though they are a little bugish,
I think she is adorable in them!

Playroom Done!!!

Yippee!

My favorite part is the flooring,

I love the colors, letters and numbers!

So fun!!

The 4th

I cannot even begin to express my appreciation

for those who serve to keep us safe

and let us enjoy our freedom!

I don't even want to think about

where we would be without them

and SO glad we don't have to!

My dad has a '57 Ford Skyliner-

It is my favorite!!!

And my favorite thing to do on the 4th of July

is to go with the family to In-n-Out

in the '57 for lunch.

Happy 3rd of July!

Our neighborhood celebrates the 3rd of July

with a neighborhood BBQ
and fireworks at Fred Kelly Stadium.

We brought our patio table out front and enjoyed the neighbors and friends!

Our neighbor, Karen, made water balloons for the kids to have a water fight with.

and of course we wanted in too!

I got Kaylie dressed this morning for 4th of July.

She doesn't have much blue or red.

So I setteled for this cute tank and shorts

that are a size too small.

Kaylie is going to be a big sister in January!

We are VERY excited to add a new member into our family!

Kaylie has a new, fun playtoy!

It sat empty on our patio for a day and

everytime Kaylie saw it

she would point to it and go over wanting to play....

today she finally got to!!!

Look at her, she is so happy!

She played in it all morning!!

And...she only ate a mouthful of sand once!

Dirt = Dirty.....

When it is too quiet I know something is wrong....
Today I let the quiet go on too long
& this is what I found...

Lounging....

We have been doing a lot of re-organizing, cleaning and throwing away around here......

My biggest project was making our under the stairs closet into a play room for Kaylie.

I had to find a new home for all the 'stuff' we were storing in there....one thing was the swing.

I put it in K's room until I could figure out what to do with it,

and it has quickly become her FAVORITE toy.

She climbed into it all by herself, with Mr. Bear in hand, and swung for a long time!!!

It was adorable!!!!!

New Do or Don't???

Seriously Looking For Advice-

Kaylie eats everything by palming a whole handful of food and SHOVING it ALL in her mouth. I didn't think anything of it, she has always eaten this way, until the doctor asked if she can use her pointer finger and thumb to eat. I had to answer, "I don't know" she pretty much shoves everything into her mouth.

Then a friend from church who works in the nursery with Kaylie made a comment about how she had never seen anyone eat cheerios quite like Kaylie does. She said most kids pick up their cheerios with two fingers, and Kaylie shoves them all her her mouth. That got me thinking that there is something wrong with how she eats and I might need to do some coaching with her on the proper way to eat. I know she can learn, so if I need to redirect her I can and will, I just don't know if it is that big of a deal.

I have very little to complain about in regards to food, she is a great eater, eating pretty much everything we put in front of her. I don't want to make a mountain out of a molehill, I just want to do what is best for her.....

I Needed A PIck-Me-Up!!!

So I Don't Forget

I haven't kept a baby book.

I was given a baby calendar by my mom who knew I would never do a baby book.

She thought I might be able to keep up with a calendar.

I haven't changed the month in at least 3.

I am blogging so I can remember.

My 13 month week 3 year old is growing and doing so many new and wonderful things.

She.....

~*throws her diaper away in the trash can (at our house and my moms!)

~* can bring you either a basketball or tennis ball depending on what you ask for
~* is REALLY good at giving kisses
~*says "hi" to everyone we see....it is so cute walking through the store with her saying hi and waving to everyone we pass!
~* goes down the stairs backwards safely all by herself
~*waves hello and goodbye
~*loves the bath & coloring on the bathtub walls
~*will bring you her purse if you ask

~*understands 'no touch' (but like any 1 year old, chooses when to listen)

~*says 'ball, bye, mamma, dadda and hot'

On Cue, She....

~*blows her nose
~*stops (most of the time) & sits down

~*sings
~*shuts doors
~*will point to her eyes, nose, ears, mouth....
~*will play sleep with her baby- she will lay down on the floor with her baby in her arms next to her and suck her thumb and pretend to sleep

~* while sucking her thumb, if you say 'not now' she will take it out

~*can give a high 5!

KT's Graduated With Her MASTERS!!!!

My cousin Kaitie graduated this past weekend from Biola with her Masters!!! We had a great evening celebrating her and all that she has achieved!

Kaylie's Grandma Sharon gave her some dress up jelwery and tiara(s)

Kaylie LOVES it all.

I keep it in a princess purse and it is the first thing she goes for in her toy basket.

It provides HOURS of entertainment.

Today I pulled out the princess purse.

I needed some quiet time.

I don't feel good.

She is adorable!

I love her!

Water Baby

Kaylie's friend Elijah had a water party for his birthday.....Kaylie wasn't able to go down the water slide (mostly because mom won't put a swim suit on to go with her) so she spent most of the time on the slip and slide.....She just loves being in the water- I'm looking forward to this summer and her learning how to swim!!!!
