All in a Week!

This past week has been one for the books-

its been busy, fun and scary.....

Warning: There is some potty and poop talk here.....

As you know there is little I like more than these cute little

baby buns in undies...

Seriously, cuteness :)

Trey did awesome with "pee" training

but pooping on the toilet was not so easy....

With Kaylie it was super easy. She let us know she was pooping

 with a bright red face and grimace. We would run her to the restroom

and she would finish. She consequently pooped on the 

toilet before she went potty.  It was simple!

When it came to Trey we were sort of at a loss as to how to

motivate him to poop on the toilet because he gave us no warning.

So we tried candy, worked great for pee, 

but poop, he had no interest....

UNTIL

these babies made an appearance.

He wanted those cars and trucks so badly he hasn't

had an accident since we told him he could earn one 

each time he pooped on the toilet.

Now, he goes all on his own.

Best 87 cents I've ever spent!

Kaylie.....poor Kaylie!

It has been a rough week for my girl!

Devin and I went away for the weekend for our anniversary and 

the kids stayed with Grandma and Ba-pa.

While we were just about to take our first bite of dinner on our first night out, 

we got 3 phone calls and a picture text.

 

Kaylie was kicking a ball around and slipped

and fell, splitting her chin open.

My parents took her to the ER. We boxed up 

our untouched meal and met them at the hospital.

The doctor stitched her up while she watched Dora and 

My Little Pony on an ipad.

Genius!

They were so great to the kids and made our visit far too easy.

Kaylie had such a great time and came home with lots

of take home prizes that we were nervous she would like 

it too much and want to go back!

She got 8 stitches and says 

it looks like she has teeth on her chin!

:) She is so funny!

First she splits her chin open

then she got sick....

she has had a fever since Saturday

Poor girl!

Oh, and just for fun, Trey has an ear infection....

cause why not add one more thing to our already exciting

week!

Potty Training

We potty trained Trey this week....

The one thing I've learned while
potty training both kids is that
I'm potty trained.

I think this is the worst part of being a parent and
don't understand what is so bad about kids going to college in
diapers
I'm serious. I hate it that much.

Getting Trey out of diapers

 was a long time coming but I finally

got up enough courage to do it!

It was way different than it was 

with Kaylie

but he was a champ

and did awesome!

I mean, what kid is not adorable in undies.....

just look at those baby buns!!!

The kids love playing tackle with Devin

especially under a tent-

apparently it makes the game more fun!

And dressing up as Doc McStuffins is just about as 

good as being offered ice cream!

But smiling for a picture is like...

apparently the worst thing

ever!

It was too quiet while Trey was playing in

his room. I knew he was up to no good so

I went in to check on him.....

This is what I found when I got there

He had his 3 favorite books, his blanket,
 got himself into my glider
and was reading.....

Does it get more precious than that?

Last Day

of her first year of preschool!!!

Her class, some of the kids are graduating

to Kindergarten so they got caps

They sang songs and had a little "performance"

It was adorable!

We LOVE her!!!

New Bathroom....

Devin has spent the past month or so gutting and 

re-doing our hall/kids/guest bathroom

and boy did it turn out 

AMAZING!!!

why it NEEDED to get gutted and

started over from scratch!

And a handy little touch,

Devin turned the bottom drawers on each side into

a step stool for each kid so they can reach their sink

I mean, really.

the only proof that this is the kids bathroom

is the monkey and shark bath robes....

I could not be any happier with the final result

and how it turned out.

A bathroom that I'm not embarrassed for

our guests to use! 

Shh, don't tell anyone

we skipped church today and went to the park

We....

fed the ducks

(I don't have pictures to prove it because I spent

much of the time on top of the rocks trying to 

stay away from the ducks- those things scare me)

played in the sand

spun ourselves dizzy!

had some help from daddy cause we were

too short!

climbed

played some basketball

but it turned into more of a keep away

and a game of chase

and get the ball, cover it and defend it

I wanted some pictures with the kids

Kaylie was a good sport

but Trey would not for the life of him smile for the camera

and take a picture with me

that boy!!!

but he would show off his muscles for the camera

He makes me laugh!!!

Mother's Day

This girl is growing up SO fast and becoming one sweet little girl.
She woke up this morning and wished me a happy Mother's Day and
asked if I was feeling better. (ALL ON HER OWN!!!)
  Melted my heart!
I am truly lucky to be her mom
LUCKY!!!

you know, just to make his point.

The "happy Mother's Day" point I guess!!!

Yup, lucky to be his momma too!

See, he does have a cute, sweet side! 

And the two of them together is a fun, funny pair

they would not be serious for one picture

they thought they were so funny making faces

and sticking their tongues out for the camera

not one smile!

I guess we thought they were funny too! :)

I LOVE watching him play.
